I am curious as to what religion is acceptable to the arts and in fact promotes them in their faith.

Scientology is quite tolerant of so-called "situational ethics", meaning that there is no moral wrong beyond what the individual decides for himself.
Sounds like Hollywood.

Well, considering that most of America is Protestant, I would have to say that most people in the entertainment industry are Protestant. One of the great things about the entertainment industry is that it runs on money and money doesn't recognize religion, so basically a member of any religion who has the means and the talent are able to work in the entertainment industry. All religions are acceptable to the arts because America is a multicultural/religious nation. Unfortunately, there are still some prevalent stereotypes that need to be dealt with, but compared to 100 years ago, anyone with the talent and some luck, of course, can make it big in the entertainment industry.

Many seem to drift toward Scientology.
It's hard be be a JW and an actor, as your whole life is centered around Christ, so taking roles where you kill or have sex outside marriage is not possible. A good example of this was the 70s show "Get Christie Love". The star was the first black woman to have a major starring role in a weekly cop series.
