You do not want to connect the linksys router to your Billion Bipac 5112s. It already has a router built in...

You need an Ethernet router, they often are labeled "DSL/cable" router. The wide area port (internet) port on your router is RJ11 and has a modem on that connection. An Ethernet router will have an RJ45 connection and will not have an internal modem for the WAN port. That is why combo units are not always the best choice. They depend on a specific connection type. An Ethernet router will aways require an external modem but does work with standard Ethernet connections from that modem. Add: if the Ethernet connection you have is fed from a router and not a modem then yes you can try using the old router as an access point. You log into it, disable dhcp server, connect the Ethernet to any of the LAN ports. You then use it as a switch/access point. The IPs needed will have to be supplied by the input line!

You cannot use 2 routers, if the linksys has it's own modem replace the original with it. Use the web based configuration tool to set it up. Then use the wireless utility for your card to find your network, set the encryption and connect. I tried to search for it's data, but found everything that came up was from people having problems, take a warning, there are apparently some earlier models still around that will let in unencrypted connections even with encryption set, they refuse an incorrect key but allow unencrypted.

your internet MODEM needs to be in bridge mode. It may not be naturally contact your ISP.

If you connect PPPoE then set up the linksys internet connection type to PPPoE and put in your user name and password. It will connect and act as a server to allow multiple computers to share the internet connection.
