i own a shop, and i would look and see when the last time i had it tuned up was,its possible it may in need of a real good tune up ,i hadn't tuned my truck in about 3 years, and it started drinking gas also, when i got to checking it had almost 50 thousand on a good tune up so it may be time for a good one, also have the 0-2 sensor and all the other sensors checked on it,any one bad sensor can cause one to use a lot of gas, good luck i hope this helps.

Check out fueleconomy.gov for comparison ratings of fuel mileage. A tuneup will help any time there's a loss in fuel economy as will correct tire pressure...check once a month, drive at 55-65 max on the highway...fuel economy suffers at anything over 45MPH, no quick starts from stop, run a bottle of fuel injection cleaner in the tank every couple of months. Maybe check out a diesel car--they're great on economy which is why they sell so many in Europe with their prices.

More than likely it needs 02 sensors replaced,I do believe that there is a scan port you may want to bite the bullet and get it scanned for fail codes, could save a pile of money to know exactly what is wrong instead of guessing
