johnsmom, though Ben was for sure not born on the island, it does not mean he was born in Portland OREGON, there are other Portland cities all over the country that he could have been born near... just FYI :)
hiphopgirl, little Ben met Richard Alpert in the jungle after he bypassed the perimeter security NOT Jacob. Take off the hair and beard and its Alpert. The voice is Alpert too.
I think Jacob is either a ghost or the island or someone on another plane of existence.
Ben is nuts, and SO not a nice guy!

Ben could see him, but only Locke could hear him. That's why Ben shot Locke. I still think Jacob was real (met Ben in the jungle), but whether he's real now or not, I haven't decided. He's either (a) a poltergeist or some other trapped spirit; (b) he's trapped on a different "plane" due to the electromagnetic field surrounding the Island; or (c) he's the product of Ben's telekinetic mind.

OK well the guy that was on the VW that Hurley found and took joy riding was Ben's dad. Ben killed him. Ben was also born near Portland. (it says so when he's born) Last I checked that was in Oregan,USA not "the LOST island". As for who Jacob is.....It's like I say at the end of every show. I am so LOST.

Do you think Jacob might really be invisible? Or a dead person?
I have one thing to say: I don't think Ben's mom is dead. I think she was alive when ben saw her on the other side of the sonar thingy.

I think Ben is delusional....even the story about him seeing his mother doesn't make sense....That is, she died at his birth so he has no memories of her and yet he immediately recognized "her" when he supposedly saw her in the forest.
I think his delusions transfer to "Jacob" as well.
What do you think?

Yes... wow. Not sure... I think he may be one the "voices" that people have heard on the island from the beginning, but who or what those "voices" are remain to be seen.
