There are more police officers of color. Can we explain why they don’t make a difference to curb the problems caused youth of color of drivers of color?

I don't imagine that anybody cares much what color the guy handcuffing them is. Cops is cops.

If it's a question of setting an example for youth of color, the effect of seeing police officers of different ethnicities is indirect at best. The US's social problems with color run far deeper than the demographics of law enforcement.

The ability to make offenders of the same race feel more comfortable around you has nothing to do with your affectiveness as a police officer or how you can get through to them. Diversity hiring practices (you know what kind) serve only to keep public support high and ward off accusations of racism from people stopped by the police.

I was sure on how you reasoned this question.

We can ask why asian police officers in asian countries cannot stem the crimes of other asians.

We can also ask why caucasian police have no impact on curbing criminal acts of caucasians in predominately caucasian neighourhoods.

I was clear on how you drew a connection between the race of a police officer and the crimes committed in any community.

Like all officers they will act hardest to gain respect by being restrictive to your own culture holding them to a higher standard.

Cops don't make a difference in crime. Economy makes the difference. When the economy is strong, crime goes down. Go figure.
