Hello! I guess other than closing the window, there is probably very little to prevent the smoke from entering your home. Obviously, you cannot ask him to stop. Is it possible to talk to him if you know him well? It's worth a shot...
This might not brighten your outlook but at least you' and your child are not in the same room as someone who smokes. I'm sure the smoke still irritates you, though, because the same thing happens when my dad smokes outside. We would always smell it indoors, but since we can't change the situation, we try to work around it by running a fan.
Maybe you can buy an air purifier.

With due respect. The guy tries to smoke outside, which is one of the few places left that he can smoke. Now you want to take that away from him also.
If you are on good terms with him, then you might mention that the smoke is blowing your direction and is making you sick. This may not do much to further your relationship with your neighbor, BTW.
One other possibility, could be to shut your window and door when your neighbor is outside smoking. It would only be for about 4 or 5 minutes. Then when he goes in or finishes his cigarette, then you can reopen the windows and door. Sooner or later, your neighbor will get the idea, without you saying anything.
Most smokers are nice people, and don't want to offend other people. They just want to enjoy their smoke without any hassles. And they are running out of spaces to do it, too.
One last thing is to go out and buy him one of those smoke free ashtrays that are being sold. That would be a nice gesture on your part. good luck

The smoke coming from your neighbors house will not affect you, your unborn or your toddler! Don't you think that it's better that he smokes outside of his house, keeping his family safe? The information that second hand smoke is lethal is not all scientifically accurate. If you are that concerned, keep your windows closed and install an air purifier in your home. Don't you worry about all the pollutants that cars put into the air? I think that you are overreacting to your neighbors smoking. He has rights too.

open two windows the one with the smoke and one at the opposite end of the house. do same with both by opening about 1/2 inch top and 1/2 inch at bottom. Helps to circulate the air in the entire house. Also in the summer you can run a window fan on exchange or exhaust. Try boiling eels in your house as a last resort and he'll stay away for sure.

I dont personally smoke, I do know most smokers I've known seem to take stuff too personal though. Simplist temporary quick solution would be close the screen & hope & pray they move away.
Tellin / suggesting to someone what to do on their own property could get emotionally touchy.
If hes a really nice guy he might be understanding & try changing where he sits/smokes.
Tell your toddler run aroud the back yard screaming & yelling loud this might drive a neighbor back inside their home.

I would get a fan and aim it at the window. It will redirect the smoke back outside (hopefully) You may want to consider mentioning that you are pregnant and the smell from the smoke is making you sick. You can't ask hm not to smoke but you might want to ask him if he can stand or sit further away from your window. If you don't want a face to face discussion, write a nice, polite note and put it in his mailbox.

The general rule for safety is NO SMOKING within 9 metres (30 ft.) from any entrance. (or window in your case.)
I live in Ontario, Canada.
Tell your neighbor that he is intentionly harming your fetus, and that is a proven fact. He should refrain from hurting you and your baby.
Birth defects can occurr from inhalation of secondhand smoke.

Ask the neighbor politely to smoke some other location and he/she refuses, get out the boom box and let it go. when he/she stops you will stop.
