If that record is tarnished, then any records before minorities were allowed to play are tarnished as well

well one thing bum76 is an idiot with way too much time on his hands and no clue about baseball. 805 wont do it son. You just want to postpone the celebration??? Bonds will hit over 805, barring injury, GUARANTEED!!!!! He wants 3000 hits and he needs 165 more to get there so that means he will be back next year. since 40 percent of his hits are homers that will give him about 70 more which puts him well into the 800's. Barry will probably retire at the end of the 08 season with 815 - 830 homers and 3040 hits and 8 MVP's So write up a fictional story that at least gets the job done or dont waste your time and energy. Good luck Barry!!!!

I'll happily watch him break the record and enjoy it. And no, I'm not a Giants fan. I'm just a NY Mets fan who never believed the fairy tale that all athletes were enhancement-free. The entire league was involved with steroids and has been for a long time. There's nothing they can do to change it, so there should be no exceptions to Bonds' record when he gets it. Unless they decide to put asterisks next to every World Series champ, MVP, and even Cy Young winners who ever had the slightest chance of being a steroid user, leave it alone. He's been a great player since the 80s with & without enhancements(if it ever gets proven that he did them in the 1st place).

who cares? the record will be his and one day it will be broken. hank aaron was a great great ballplayer. so is barry bonds. i'm done with the steroid talk. baseball had no rules against using steroids and failed to do anything about it for over 12 years. it's the fault of MLB that there is even a controversy. you can't blame the players. and i don't care what you say, steroids does not help you hit home runs. it takes, eyes, bat speed and coordination. the only thing steroids would do is keep your strong and help you heal quicker from injury. bonds wasn't ever injury prone until 2 years ago, after steroids had been banned. he is a great hitter, that's it. congrats to barry. i hope he enjoys holding this sacred record.

look i think it is a real good job drugs or not, everyplayer cheats to a point, 80 percent of all baseball players take some sort of suplement, when it becomes ilegal they move on to the next so congrats barry but i hate to say not being an a-rod fan but he will hold the record one day

I think that the San Fran fans and Bonds family will care but few more than that. It speaks for it's self that Aaron won't attend. I think that it would be great if he breaks it at an away game and gets BOOED!!!
