I am going to assume (because I'm not a smoker) that people do not want to be trying to feed themselves and hold a cigarrette at the same time. Would you chew gum, and then take it out before each bite? I think it's the same deal here. I'm originally from NY and now smoking is banned in all public places (minus certain bars/clubs). Now I live in Kentucky and it's a much different story. I always request non smoking and let my friends know ahead of time. I've never had a complaint.

i do while at work...i only get an hour..i only get two breaks..so when i first go to lunch as I'm getting the food ready to eat i light up...and i smoke and eat at the same time..i dont do this any other time..one cause all the restaurants are going no smoking and the other cause i dont smoke in my house

I don't smoke in my house, and I can't in restaurants, but I would if I could.
It doesn't bother me, the best of both worlds~

I WAS A SMOKER FOR 19 YEARS. AND I NEVER SMOKED WHILE I ATE. IT WAS GROSS
