don't know about the "legal" part...but, totally wrong of her! AND, why send out texts to anyone? i believe that you should tell your mom or dad, while i realize this is hard...you should tell them that you know you was wrong for having it out in class and all that, but she violated your privacy at the same time! your teacher should be reported to the principal and anyone else that could take care of this problem! she had absolute no right sending off texts from your phone!!!!

i agree with the answer "stupid" gave above about the privacy thing, but while going to the classroom and returning the favor to your teacher. you could get into more trouble for that, and it's not worth stooping to the teachers level.

It was unethical of the teacher to look through the information on your phone.

You may not be able to do anything about it however. Do go to your class ad visor/counselor with your friend and tell that person what happened so that it can be documented.

Hopefully you haven't deleted the text that you believe she sent.

Now, remember to turn you phone off while in class....

Oh gosh. no way.. i understand the taking of the phone. but looking through the phone and sending texts??? that's just out of line. She needs to know that what she's doing is totally wrong and it's trespassing. trespassing through your personal stuff. The next day, I would probably look through her purse or go through her desk drawers. Give papers out to students that have nothing to do with them. So when she questions me " THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID TO ME. YOU LOOKED THROUGH MY PERSONAL STUFF AND SENDING OTHER PEOPLE THINGS OFF OF MY PHONE.IT'S THE EXACT SAME THING. DON'T GET MAD JUST BECAUSE I DID THE SAME TO YOU AS YOU DID UNTO ME. IT'S TOTALLY FAIR" and if she sends you to the principal, tell the principal the whole story and say that you didn't like it when she thought she had the right to rummage through your belongings.

Your teacher has no right to look through your stuff, unless the teacher or principal thought you had a weapon, then they could look in your locker or whereever. Next time, hide your phone in your backpack, or use it in the bathroom. Just wondering, why did you have your phone out?

That's so wrong.. I think she's trying to find out if your doing something on the phone that you shouldn't be doing. She has no right to go through your phone...

nope unless she felt that u were going to do harm to others or yourself. but if she did feel that way she was suppose to talk to ur parents and the principal first.
