Yes. It's called a Double-entendre. Also, it depends on the emphasis of the words and punctuation in a sentence. Time also changes the meaning of words. Examples: AIDS used to be a Dietary supplement and the Flintstones always had a "GAY old time." Gee, I never knew!
Take the following sentences as further examples:
JOHN has a car. (not Bill or Bob); John HAS a car. (not a boat or plane); John has a car. (a Yugo); John has a CAR! (Ferrari). He traded in his Yugo! WAY to GO, JOHN! NOW, he'll get a Hummer, for SURE!

with so many diversified personalities represented by the human race I*d say that this is VERY LIKELY. What is said as a compliment by one, may be taken as criticism or an insult by another.
Wouldn*t life be very hum drum though if we all thought and acted alike?

yes..i find computers and letters to be hard to communicate through because people cant see your emotions and body language..and out of context, yes i am often,to often for my liking...taken the wrong way. Geez it annoys me!
I guess thats why face 2 face matters to me..cause i can see people in thier true form.
yes,the english language is very confusing! and my(and others) moods matter too!
have you noticed that if your grumpy or upset...things seem too upset you more or bother you...? thats annoying...but it one of my worse habits for sure.

Yes, everything that is said by you or any one, for that matter, could be blown way out of proportion or taken out of context.

Yeah also the way you say something means alot too. The tone of voice and the way you emphasize a syllable can change everything.

I have no idea so my comment is, "No comment."
But then if I say that I have no comment, then I could be living in deniability. But if I admit that I am denying something then that means I am telling the truth. But if I am telling the truth about denying something. Could I be denying that I am telling the truth even if I am telling the truth but still deny that I said it but I don't even know what it is. So what is it?

yes, i believe so. anything can be taken several ways, it just depends on how someone perceives things. everyone's different and not everyone thinks alike, therefore we all will interpret things differently.
i believe it differs from person to person, to be quite honest.
have you ever seen the "who's on first" act by abbot and costello? perfect example. while it's hilarious, it just gives you a taste of how things are interpreted differently.

If you give someone a cookie and tell them to shut up, they'll probably shut up so if they take is out of context, you won't know.
