I take them because it makes me think I'm doing something good..... but I may just be fooling myself if I'm being honest.

Recent studies have found that multi-vitamin supplements do not increase people's health and/or lifespan..

When I was 45, my knees balooned to twice their size and were horribly painful!! I got a nutrition book and it talked re not having enough Glucosamine and Chondroitin. The doctor was on the verge of giving me shots every wk and so I got onto the vits/mineral regimen! The swelling went AWAY in 24 hrs!! I really started reading up on the subject and got on a full regimen of most vits/mins and have had not trouble since. Arthritis etc would have crippled me by now, but at 78, I walk a 2-mi speed walk in 30 mins to my old disco tapes and do the fitness machines regularly/ THANKFULLY have very good health and a full life!! Lucky for me, I get to play on the floor with my Grandchildren and they love to see me come in the door!

As I see it, they are useful because not everyone eats a well balanced diet and they could be helpful in correcting a deficiency.
I have seen people who go for years without eating proper veggies. Supplements are probably not the best answer for them but they might be better than nothing
