a religious university if you weren't the religion that the school was affiliated with?

depends if they were all about religion or education. If it's a good university for education and they aren't going to try and convert you, then yes.

it would depend on how far it differed from your religion... if you were a die-hard fundamentalist christian & it was university o' satan, erm, i would have to say i wouldn't.
otherwise, especially if i had a scholarship or something, i would fully consider it. you might have to take some religious courses - Which would TOTALLY make you a more intelligent person, seeing as how most people only bother learning about themselves - but i guarantee that you won't be the only 'non-affiliated' student there... and i'm pretty sure nobody tries to 'convert' you or anything.
i'd probably check out the prof's tho, might give you a clue how hardcore the school is, or how biased the curriculum may be.

No, I wounldn't. I went to a relgious school for a year and my three brothers have all also gone to that school for a year each. The school has a prayer time, church next to it, and pretty much reads the bible for their literature. If there was an exellent university with a religion that was close to mine, I might go, but if it was something totally opposite of my religion, I don't think I would understand what they were trying to teach me, and I wouldn't get as good as of education as you might think.

Yeah sure why not? If you think about it most colleges/universities follow the Christian calendar anywas so technically anyone who attends any school gets Christmas and Easter and other Christian holidays off. A good school is a good school and who cares if they teach Christianity or the Catholic religion or Judaism. Just get a good education and be open minded. Those universities dont force their religion down your throat or anything...hmmm im not sure about mormon universities though...they might be more strict.

I worked at a religious university and it was not any different than one that is not. If you like the school, go.

Not really, not that I would have anything against the school or their religion, I just feel school is stressful enough and I wouldn't want the extra stress of feeling like I had to defend my own beliefs all the time.

no i wouldn't, for a few reasons. (1) wouldn't like hanging around with screaming religion freaks all day, trying to convert people (2) there would be inside jokes and stories about growing up in that religion i wouldn't be privy to and (3) there would most likely be MANDATORY chapel several times a week and i would feel out of place.

No, I surely wouldn't. I think religious schools are very risky, anyway. I don't believe you get the quality education in other subjects that you would in a public college.

Yes, as long as it wasn't a total departure from my faith. I am Methodist and I could go to a Baptist or Catholic school OK, but I am not sure I could go to say a Buddhist or Hindu university. I'd want something a bit familiar to me, you know?

No, I don't understand why anyone would go to a private religious school if it wasn't their religion..It would be like going to a church that isn't your religion unless you wanted to convert...
