i took it to best buy and thats what they said was wrong with it and thats why it wasnt charging right. i cant have them fix it because i dont have a warranty anymore.

I charge $30-50 for people. It not too hard and no real parts needed, just a soldering iron to reheat the solder most times. It is a little time consuming though. Sometimes you can go to Compaq Support and they may have a .PDF file that show you how to take it apart to get to the board that have the jack. My experience is when it plugged in your leg may press on the cord and over time loosen the solder joint.

Some of that depends on where you live as rates will vary greatly by city. Where are you located?

Straight quote for only resoldering a jack - $50 from me, in small town in northwestern Illinois.

Work would have to be on a "only for what you say is wrong" basis. If it is found to be more, then it would depend on what is wrong the availability of a replacement part. With that work, labor rate of $75/hour while working on the PC.

i've got had this probable maximum of cases! ]: the way your charger lays might reason it to renounce working. Or if the in the metallic piece that connects to the pc gets bent or something, this is a difficulty. I purely ordered a sparkling one for $7, so which you will get them low fee.
