My friend had one on the NHS when she was 17. She's 5 foot tall and was a 34FF!
You don't get one for free if they're just annoying (I'd love mine reduced!) or a bit wonky. they have to be causing a genuine health problem. My friend had major back problems from the weight of her breasts and massively reduced ability to 'live a normal life'.
You can tell your GP you want a second opinion, in which case he has to refer you for one, or go back and talk about your reasons for needing a reduction. You need to have substantial pain, mental or physical!

Actually you CAN have a breast reduction on the NHS, I know several women who have.
I just hear its a big pain in the butt because of all they require you to do.
Check out this site:
http://www.breasthealthonline.com
There are some good forums there and I've seen some NHS topics about breast reductions.

hello i was just wondering how old you are ? if you are younger than 21 than this could be a reason you are being told no.I think in Canada they will not do them till you are 21. my husbands sister had to have a breast reduction when she was a teenager but she couldn't get one she used to get a really really sore back all the time but her doctor and everyone she asked told her she had to wait till she turned 21 before they could give her one because her boobs were still growing . so when she turned 21 they did one and she feels way better no longer gets a sore back hope to have helped :):):)

go to a different GP say that your boobs cause you terrible pain because they are too big and that you are constantly slouching, not going out anymore because people stare and you are depressed, cry a few tears and maybe he might refer you. they only do this if it is affecting your mental or physical health. remember they actually take your nipples of and put them back on in a different place! yuk yuk. need mine doing but this fact along puts me right off.

I asked my doctor for a reduction, he also said no. I have to pay him in full.

Consult with a plastic surgeon. They are the best about working through problems with insurance companies.
