How would you feel about it? I think in a way that it would be an invasion of my privacy. I dont think they should do something like that. It would be too weird!

Well if they did have an online icon i think there should be some place where you can adjust your privacy. so if you didn't want people to see that you were online then go and click the button that would say "do not allow people to see when i'm online"
It would only be a good idea if you had the option of not letting people see.

No, I don't like that idea at all! I actually deactivated that control on my myspace because I didn't like it. LOL I think that would just make the program way too stalker-friendly. Plus, sometimes controls like that get screwed up. For example, the one on myspace keeps it up even if you've signed off..sometimes it can take up to an hour to show that you're not on-line anymore.

i think it would help if you wanted an answer from one of your contacts it doesn't seem that weird to me cuz i know they already do that on myspace, but it makes me think, what if people use codes to change that online now icon like on myspace but i can see how you think it' would be invading your privacy i think maybe they should have an option whether you allow people to see that online or offline icon! =]

I think that is a good idea. I would also like my computer to "ding" when my Yahoo email comes in!

One one hand, it's a good idea, you could chat with your buddies. on the other hand, it might be scary to know that anyone, including the weirdos, could IM you at any time.

if you don't want people to be added to the contacts list don't add them.but i think they're (Y/A) is already working on a privacy network for that.
