Maybe because (as is the case with my father in law) he is pushed to the background by over bearing mother in laws, so there are no real reasons to make fun of them. I have more reasons to feel sorry for mine!

i guess b/c mother in laws are usually known for being the cause of arguments and sticking their nose in the kids marriage and fathers usually don't. Not saying they don't do it but are not notorious for it.

You don't piss off the hand that bails you out, co-signs loans, fixes everything that breaks, picks up the check, loans power tools, takes grand kids every weekend, knows all the mushroom patches and hands out advice only when asked.
