The fact that people have forgotten personal responsibility, self-reliance, and work hard for what you want. Today it seems people expect to start at the top, win the lottery, or have the government bail them out.
I place this above all else because it is symptomatic of other similar issues, and ties in with nearly every problem out there.

War, definitely. War takes so many forms, from the war in Iraq, the civil war in Darfur and Palestine/ Israel, the tribal wars being fought all over Asia and Africa, etc. War is something that branches into many other problems--- hunger, famine, disease, rape, violent crimes, homelessness. Many of the problems we face right now in various places are a direct or indirect result of conflict that led to war on a multitude of levels. I believe that if we work together diplomatically, this can be helped/stopped/prevented and then the other issues that come along with it could be worked on and improved for those affected by them in the long term.

over-population
Nobody realize's but it is the cause of many of todays problems global warming, world hunger, wars. epidemics and so on. Just think ever since man walk on earth, we've had different continents to expand to, well all the is inhabital land is taken, and we keep proliferating. Where's all the new land going to come from? I foresee an increase in all the above named problems due to over-population.

The inability to think for themselves. To know how to reason. To be able to think logically.
Were all the people in the world able to do this, all of the problems we have would eventually dry-up and blow away.

pollution is everywhere and is awful that many people dont care about it. i place it around the others because if we could take care of this problem we would give a good example to the next generations and we would take care of our planet.....

AIDs, every second people are diagnosed with this disease which kills so many and yet there is no cure. by 2010 95% of african children will be AIDs orphans.
