I personally am a General Motors fan so I would have to say Chevy. However, Ford has been building cars for over 100 years. If they were really junk, they would have gone the way of the Packard, Studebaker, and Desoto years ago. Both Chevy and Ford owners are passionate about their rides. I hope the Chevy - Ford rivalry goes on for a long long time.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people attempt answer these questions when they know little or nothing about the subject, or worse yet, don't even think about the question, and just throw out an ingnorant, uneducated response.

This isn't a 'Ford or Chevy' comparison. There's nothing 'sweet' about it really; you are comparing two totally different types of trucks with different motors and purposes. I could have told you the results just by researching the 0-60 times; the Chevy would win by about 1.5 seconds. No surprise really, since you are comparing a higher horsepower and *much* higher torque turbo diesel to a mildy tuned gas motor. Now, put your truck up against the equivelent '07 Ford Powerstroke or Dodge Cummins and you'll have a fair race... or, use them for they were intended and the Ford (Powerstroke) will out-tow by over 7000 pounds...

yes that is sweet as hell im not sorry to say that the idiot that said a ford will out tow your truck uh yea in one condition that is if your not in your truck ive seen it in action fords fold under pressure they are geared wrong will tow good for about the first 100 000 miles id almost say that is givin them to much credit but lets just recap the ratio of chevy to fords that you see broke down on the road put it this way i dont care where you go i always see 5 to one fords vs chevy in a salvage yard cuz the motor blew i dont credit dodge much either cuz they suck but hell i have a 95 dodge neon with a leaking valve and i can smoke my best friends 94 mustang all day long its kinda off the subject but how lame is that you made an awesome choice by gettin the chevy truck you can do more with fewer mods take it easy

Very simple.

Drag race is typically hp/weight. Traction becomes an issue over a certain ratio. And if the guy talking about tourque knew anything, You can tow more faster with more hp. Tourque is just a factor.

If you want to beat anyone on the road try an old street bike. '81 KZ1000 comes to mind. The new ones are wicked fast too. But I wouldn't try towing with one.

Hell yeah it's sweet!! It's because you made a good choice and bought a Chevy. My 2500HD with the gas 6.0L eats Fords too. Sucks to be them. Ha!Ha!

Well with more torque and 100 hp, it should be no problem. Do you think my V8 Ford will out run any 6 banger on the road??? Pretty close if not.

The duramax diesel is the best diesel on the market, We have owned powerstrokes, cummings and the duramax is by far the best on the market. The allison tranny is the bomb also, you won't see a stock Ford or Dodge touch it.

the 5.4 engine is the same base as the 4.6 engine that they put in the gt mustangs just bigger bore. so dont doubt that they have plenty of power when needed. the engines in the pickups were tuned differently from factory though. they were introduced to be a fuel economic truck therefore the power is not were you would think it should be. but if your every really up for a race i have a stock 95 f 150 with a 4.9 straight six that will leave you in the dust. hahaha

Because Duramax diesel engines are amazing. They are super powerful. Just search Duramax on youtube.com, you will see tons of videos of people drag racing everything, and winning.
