The highest I have seen are women's tango shoes with a 3 to 3-1/2 heel. Seen in Argentine tango dances in Baltimore and Washington. Those who wear them only wear them on the dance floor. Enroute to the dances, people wear regular "street" shoes or sneakers.
For regular business usage in my are, the common height is 2-1/2 to 3 inches.
I don't understand why anybody would ever want to wear anything higher.

I sometimes will wear heels to school, and I'll only wear up to 2'', but I've seen other people around town wear up to 3'' on a regular basis.

where I'm at they are either 1-2" normal heels or they are the Hispanics that like to look trashy with 6" heels they where them as high as they can get them

THE HIGHEST i GO IS 4 AND HALF INCHES...but I seen girls with ones that are 5...
