It's not an error if you drop a foul ball in baseball, believe me i've been watching baseball my whole life.

See pages 219-220 of an Illustrated Baseball Guide by Paul M. Hamburger. i couldn't copy and paste it- but it basically defines what is and is not an error.

Dropping a foul ball would not be considered an error because it would not allow a runner to advance. An error usually results in someone getting on base or advancing as a result of the error. If you chase a foul ball and drop it, the runners can not advance.

No it is not. It is only an error if the batter reaches base safely.
