Funny, I know....but like after a have a drink I concentrate amazingly well... but WHY?! It doesnt make sense drinking like kills brain cells and should do the exact opposite. I dont mean like drinking till I'm drunk...I mean like one drink.

Actually, in small doses, alcohol can have a calming, yet mentally stimulating effect. Relaxes your body, but stimulates your mind...I'm getting thirsty just thinking about it....

Don't mean to be Freudian, here, but I really believe this! I always had such a strong critical Super-ego, it canceled out a lot of what I wanted to do/learn. Through therapy, I was able to defuse those old messages of criticism, build my ego to a healthy state, and then was much more able to self-actualize!! Didn't have to depend upon alcohol to de-commission my super-E!! I am able to concentrate for longer-and more productive periods of time now.

It helps you like relax. So your brain can like slow down and focus on like one thing at a time a little longer.

could be several explainations...

people who drink frequently can experience alcohol withdrawl, which is "cured" by taking in some alcohol...

could be all in your head.. ;-) giving yourself a reason to take a drink...

one drink probably calms your nerves enough so you can focus better...slows your mind down a bit. i understand.
