My landlord, an older man, grabbed my upper region when I went to pay him. I take a tape recorder with me everytime in case he tries it again. If I catch him on tape should I press charges? What would come from it?

I dont think you can use a recording in a court, unless you let the person know that he or she is being recorded. Since you are still his tenant, to avoid any other incident of this kind, never meet with him alone always bring someone with you so you can have a witness or avoid any harassment from happening.

If this keeps on happening, you can consider pressing charges under sexual harassment.
I know how you feel because I had a similar experience when I was renting a duplex from this man who would come in to my apartment on Saturday morning when he knew I would be sleeping. He would come in wearing his robe and with a measuring stick on his hand to pretend he was taking measurements from the apt.
I used to hate this but one time he really got on my nerves when I saw him outside my bathroom window and then I let him have it and at night when his wife came home i went to tell him i was breaking the lease and I said why. He did not have the nerve to ask me to pay him for breaking the lease.

Just be very careful and if you dont feel comfortable try to move to a place where you will feel and be safe.

Take care

Men like that will not stop what they are doing, and if you don't want it to happen again, or to someone else, you are going to have to do something about it. If you report it now, there will probably not be anything done, unless you have the evidence to back it up. You have to be careful about reporting without proof, because they will basically thing its crying wolf. Just stand your ground and let him no that you will not let him get away with it again.

a tape that has been recorded without the prior consent of the person who is being recorded is deemed as inadmissible evidence in court and thus it is of no legal use!

How about just getting the proper paperwork and let him know that if it ever happens again, you will file.

File a complaint.
Chances are, even if you don't have evidence, they'll watch him more closely.
