Please give me a step by step list of how to get my HTML from my screen to everyone's.
I have learnt HTML from a book, and when I try to work out what to do next I find I only understand ye olde englishe.
When I were young screens were for the queen's speach.

Check out your internet service providers home page. This is the company that you pay to allow you to connect to the internet.
You may already have a free domain name and webspace that you can use as a first practice place. Make use of this first to find out all about it and to see exactly what you can and can't do before looking for a real domain name.

When I were young my first job was trying to get color tv going, there was none.
Any file saved as html will display from a web server, you need to put them on one. You also need to register a domain name for people to point to in the browser. The first page should be called index.html(.htm) either extension works. This will always be the page that automatically loads when people just enter a site url (as in www.my.domain.com). There are quite a lot of hosting companies available, it depends what you want your site to do.
Once you have the hosting and domain sorted you can use ftp to upload the files to your site. There are quite a few free ftp programs available, I quite like cuteftp for use from Windows.
I learnt from the book, when a supposed web designer dropped one of my clients in the doodoo. I also had to learn php and mysql, all from the same book, all at the same time, so I know the feeling.

You will need a free hosting site, you will be given an address to give to everyone who wants to view it. Here is a link to help in any aspect of building websites/pages etc and also a few links to free webhosting sites.

Hope it helps

Good luck
