Have the manufacturer put XP on it, they will do it with no problem. I don't know if they will charge you but they shouldn't because your asking for XP instead of Vista.

yes. you can. windows XP is a lot more stable and has more compatibility than vista. Dell will sell you a separte copy of XP home for $299 and you will need to install it your self, but that is a rip off. you can go buy a copy of XP home sp2 for $90 off of newegg.com. so when you get your new computer just reformat with the XP disk, and do a clean install it is very easy and straight forward. And your done. Or if you don't want to install xp your self, I know HP offers some refurbished pc with XP in them. even if you don't buy a refurbished one from Hp, i would buy a computer from the computer from there instead.n dell has hrible quality, techsuport, and there computers suck. so if your smart go with an Hp or a compaq or something. but what ever you choose, remeber not to buy XP separately from the PC vendor, as you can always get is much cheaper at newegg.com.
i hope this helps.

Right now you can only get it on some models in the XPS line when configuring online, however, if you order over the phone, perhaps you could get it installed on the model you want.
If not, yes, you can always install the copy you have. (provided it isn't an OEM version that came with your previous computer or isn't a restore disk)

I believe Dell will install XP until October, after that Microsoft is forcing them to install Vista.
If you can't figure it out via the web, call Dell's number (click link below)

You can, not legally unless its a retail version. you will need the product key.
You can also try asking Dell for XP, a number of our customers did and they all end up with XP
