-21a - 42b + 14a - 9b = -7a - 51b

-7a + 3a - 3c + 5c = -4a + 2c

Coefficients are the numbers in front of the variables (letters), like terms are things iwth the same letter as 4x, x, -2x.

Constants are plain numbers.

eg the coefficient of a in answer of question 2 is - 4
Like terms are terms that have the same letter
eg in the expression 2x + 3y + 6y
3y and 6y are like terms and can be gathered together to give 9y
2x + 3y + 6y = 2x + 9y
Constants are numbers that do not change in value
