I'm not one of those Republicans who, according to Howard Dean, "Never worked a day in my life," and I got a tax break. It's not just for the rich anymore.

Deficit spending: to fund the war. Wars are emergenicies, they justify deficit spending.
Tax cuts on dividends and capital gains, et al: Stimulate investment and thus the economy.
Weak dollar: Makes imports more expensive and American labor and exports more globally competative, thus reducing the trade deficit.
Of course, there are problems with all those rationales:
Deficit spending: it'd be a deficit even without the war.
Tax cuts: Investment is flowing overseas.
Weak dollar: Key currencies like the Chinese Yaun and Japanese Yen, are being kept weak (by thier own governments) compared to the dollar. Even if they weren't the errosion of the dollar needed to reach competative 'purchasing power parity' would trigger hyperinflation in the US.

Well, since not one Democrat Congress in American history, has ever passed a balanced budget.
Wouldn't that mean Democrats prefer deficit spending?
Why would I care how much tax's the rich pay ?
Why would you care ?
Or are you going to assume, that what they were paying before, was exactly the right amount?
So please tell us, what should everyone pay in tax's ??
What is the right amount ?
Should we make everyone pay 100%, then have the government issue us all a weekly check, and let some bureaucrat decide how much were worth ??
Does the Democrat Congress and a Democrat President in 1994 cutting the Federal Education budget 16% from 32.4 Billion down to 27 Billion mean that Democrats hate Children and Education ???
And what makes you think a strong US dollar would benefit America ??
It would make our exports cost alot more than they do today, thus decreasing our exports.
It would help somewhat with Canadian imports.
But since the mexican peso has fallen with the dollar, it wouldn't do anything but hurt us there.
And since the Chinese yaun, is pegged to the dollar, it would have no effect at all.
Concerning europe, it would make european products cheaper in the US, but make our products more expensive in europe. Since we import more from europe than we export, it would hurt US there.

I'm not going to go in for your baited question whole hog, since most rational people know that you premises are untrue. But, I will ask you a question...why is a weak dollar such a bad thing?? It makes American goods more affordable overseas and when exports from America go up, more Americans work!!!
Please admit the Bush tax rate reductions are working to put more coin in everyone's pocket. I swear, the economy is as good as it has ever been in history, yet you Libs can't get your heads out of your ****** long enough to stop finding make believe problems to blame on BUSH!!
Remember, Bush isn't running in 08, you're gonna have to beat someone else...;

Chi Guy,
Could you maybe ask some questions about real conservatives? "neo-cons" is a bush administration novelty. before that there were real conservatives, which I think describe many of us much better.
If you want to battle someone, might as well battle what they actually believe...

It is belief in supply-side economics where those tax cuts allow the people that have money to most likely to put it back into the economy through consumerism and allow the economy to get that jolt that will hopefully take care everything else.

Cons would rather pay the Chinese communists interest to finance the deficit and tax cut for the wealthy than give a nickel to the needy.

Deficit spending is important, because if there was a surplus, the liberals would try and impose massive new entitlement programs (universal healthscare). And that is something we simply cannot afford.
