I'm not attempting to be a smart *** but it does seem like a logical question to me. I never quite thought about it much because I never really cared if someone is gay or not. I just met my buddys gay brother and man he is like a radical gay dude! If being gay is a genetic tweak...then is that normal?

I of course thought of the eye, hair, skin differences. Don't you think sexuality is beyond comsemtics and for that fact...what causes the problem with the genetic answer are bi-sexuals...that is a choice is it not? Bisexuality.

For the same reason not everyone is heterosexual. Nature requires diversity, it's the only law it seems to follow, it diversifies in every possible direction.

Homogenization is man's doing, it's likely why we have racism, we desire some kind of one-ness, in a type of conformity. But in reality diversity is natural.

If heterosexuality is normal, why isn't everyone heterosexual?
Because, in Mankind, God has created a diverse and unique species so that no two people are identical. What a boring world if everyone was the same. Considering the majesty of creation, God would have been unusually unimaginative if He created us all to be clones of each other.

(Incidently, as far as homosexuality being a "genetic tweek", there is still no solid evidence that proves that any form of sexual identity is genetic. Sexual identity seems more likely to be an inherent matter of the individual's soul (the conscious psyche) rather than of the mechanics of the flesh (the brain).

It's hard to answer questions like this. Both being straight and being gay is natural and normal in my beliefs, but thats just my opinion.

Some people think that it is a sickness, some think only people with one parent growing up are gay (like if a boy grew up without a father he will be attracted to males or girls with no mother will like girls) , some believe it is a hormonal imbalance, some believe in a "gay gene" that is passed to the kid, and some even think that gays are born with the spirit of the opposite gender.

It all depends on what you believe and what you grew up learning.

Just like those having red hair or being left handed, being gay does not occur in a majority of people but it is a natural occurrence and, therefore, normal.

Scientific researchers have shown that being gay is based on biological and genetic factors.

Of these numerous scientific studies, one study found that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality; another study found extreme differences in X chromosome inactivation between women who had gay sons and women who did not; and yet another study found that, although researchers have known for years that a man's likelihood of being gay rises with the number of older biological brothers, the new study found that the so-called "fraternal birth order effect" persists even if gay men were raised away from their biological families.

Homosexuality to many society's standards isn't "normal". Although, Homosexuality IS natural. Its more biological than sociological. If it wasn't natural, it wouldn't happen. 1 out of every 8 sheep are homosexual, and there are lots of homosexual dogs, cats, etc. Somehow in nature it happened, whether to curb population growth within a species or something else, it happened. Up until the 1970s people believed it was a "mental illness". Its up to the young generation to be open-minded and accepting, because now we know whats actually true.

It is the year 2007 people, CAN WE JUST MOVE ON?Some people are straight, some people are gay... we have reached this conclusion time and time again, it doesn't matter how much you preach and rant and rave about it, There is no changing this FACT. If you are one whom doesn't like this life-style millions and I MEAN MILLIONS of people live, THEN IT IS YOUR ISSUE AND IT IS HIGH TIME YOU GET OVER IT.

yeah it's normal... just a "genetic tweak" as you put it. Not everyone is gay just like not everyone has blue eyes and brown hair. It all depends on the genes you get.

if having blue eyes is normal, why doesnt everyone have blue eyes?

It's genetic. It's normal, but it doesnt mean that EVERYONE is gay.

People are like snowflakes. From a distance, we all look alike, but when you get closer, you realize we are all a little different.
