All Nvidia GeForce cards will work with Vista if you have the Vista driver, which i believe they now do. Go to the Nvidia website and check to see if your card has a Vista driver.

The reason most of the video card packages you are looking at do not mention Vista, is because Vista is relatively new to the market, and the video cards were probably packaged before the release of the new version of Windows. I would recommend going with a card that is slightly higher end, due to the fact that the better cards have more options and more memory, and will ensure you that it will be compatible....in other words, don't buy an outdated card or a low level card due to the fact that new software isn't produced for older technology. If you give me more info on what computer you are putting this into (are you building a pc or just replacing a card), then I will be able to provide you with more information on what cards are the better cards to install, and also, tell me what you are planning on using the computer for after the card is installed.
Whatever you decide on, good luck and I hope your choice works out the way you want it to!!

Well, sadly, the Geforce series of video cards began as early as August 1999.
Because of this, the older GeForce series will not be compatible will Windows Vista, heck some of them are so old they will not be able to play Doom 3 or Half Life 2.
Windows Vista requires a video card that supports Direct X9 standards to pass their test, here are the video cards that DO NOT support Direct X9 fully.
GeForce 256 Series
GeForce 2 Series
GeForce 2 MX Series
GeForce 3 Series
GeForce 4 Series
GeForce 4 MX Series
These are the video cards that support Direct X9. From the oldest to the most recent.
GeForce FX Series (5200FX, 5500FX)
GeForce 6 Series (6200, 6600, 6800)
GeForce 7 Series (7300,7600,7900)
GeForce 8 Series (8600,8800GTX)

All these cards are supported by/have drivers for Vista:
http://www.gamegiants.net/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=vista&search_in_description=1&categories_id=3&inc_subcat=1&page=1&sort=3a
However, if what you are looking for is Direct X10 which is only supported by nvidia 8xxx series cards you have to look here:
http://www.gamegiants.net/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=nvidia%208600%20or%208800%20or%208500&page=1&sort=3a
Direct X10 is not and will not be supported by XP so these cards are best paired with Vista.

Best place to check is nVidia's website, www.nvidia.com, under drivers, if you choose your card from the list, any Vista compatiable drivers will appear, if they dont, chances are no, this is a much safer way as I had a few GeForce that should work but Vista totally refused to use it correctly.

It improves photographs processing, yet purely nominally. there's a sprint element stated as "The regulation of Diminishing Returns," which says that for each extra greenback spent, the consequent develop in overall performance gets smaller. The clever element to do (with very few exceptions) is to get the ideal GPU you're able to have sufficient money the 1st time around. SLI and Crossfire are a royal PITA to establish...and, frankly, are actually not truly surely worth the attempt and cost.

Yes, especially Nvidia's DX10 cards like the NEW and affordable 8500GT, 8600GT and 8600GTS. Of course the powerful and pricey 8800GTX/GTS have been around for some time. If you want Nvidia's PureVideoHD, then get one of this cards.
