They don't.
Liberalism is the belief in free thought.
Just how was the amendment in violation?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

It does not.
Seems to me they will now have to take religion off of the hate crime laws.
After all, THAT is a choice.

They like free speech as long as you agree with them.

I consider myself to be a liberal. I also treasure the concept of free speech. That said, Yahoo wouldn't allow me to type here what I think of your argument, and that's probably a good thing.

Neo-Cons support only their "Free Speech". Any form of dissent is demonized as liberal, anti-American, unpatriotic, or Godless. Only if someone gets a lobotomy and marches along in unquestioning lockstep are they fully embraced by the dwindling Cult of Bush.

Enjoy your sneakers and purple robes! The Mothership will arrive soon to pick you up and take you to NeoCon IV.....

I've been told I'm un patriotic and anti-American because I chose to practice free speech. I don't hate it. I'm thankful for it everyday.

What is the Conservative Equivalent of the ACLU? The only rights protected by a conservative group are the right to carry assault rifles in Church.

Liberals believe the only speech that is valid is their own wacky, perverted, bizaar, view of life! Like any true misguided inbred, they can't stand a logical, fact based, valid, opposing viewpoint!

Was that before or after all the Neo-Cons reccomended deportation for the Dixie Chicks for saying they didn't like Bush...

Maybe it was when the Neo-Cons attacked anyone who expressed conceern about the tragically mishandled war in which many Americans were dying for Bush's lie...
