well first of all women love diamonds. and we would be lying if we said that size doesnt matter lol. that doesnt mean that if you can only afford a1/4 carat that she is going to be disappointed. if you put thought into it, take time to find the right ring, and are confident that she will love it...then you are just fine. before my husband proposed, he took me to the jewelery store and told me to pick whatever i wanted just to give him an idea. i picked out a simple quarter carat diamond solitaire assuming that he was worried about the price. when he proposed, he put the same ring on my finger, only the diamond was one full carat. he told me he wanted me to be surprised. really it does depend on what you can afford, but my husband also saved his pennies til he could afford something he was proud of. remember, youll wear this ring for the rest of your life.

The size of the stone should reflect whatever the boy can afford without running himself into debt. There isn't a competition out there to see who can hang the biggest rock on their finger. The diamond symbolizes something. And a symbol can be small and sweet - it doesn't have to be the size of a car or a knock-your--eye out extravaganza. In fact, I'd really worry if a guy went overboard buying a diamond, because that would give you a good clue about his budgeting abilities, and what you might have to contend with in the future.
PS: Forget all the garbage that comes out of Hollywood and the advertisements in magazines. That's just about money, and that ISN'T what a diamond ring is about!

Well I skipped the engagement ring because I wanted a more expensive wedding ring. And we didn't really get engaged we sorta just got married.
My wedding ring is a 2.5 Carat pink Diamond princess ring. it's got the one big pink diamond in the middle, and the 2 smaller ones on the side with the band studded all the way around. And my wedding band is a all diamond tacori band. That was quite expensive, so I there was no need for an engagment ring I wouldn't wear

Who cares how big it is? Isn't it the thought that counts, not the material possession? Besides, I'd bet that many of them are cubic zirconia or cut glass - either that, or they'll be in hock for years to pay it off.
I'd rather get something original, like a black opal. They're much more interesting to look at, are worth more than a similarly-sized diamond, and every one is unique. Much classier than what looks like a big, gaudy piece of clear glass!

It's not about the rock, but about the thought that goes into the gift..I would be completely happy with a plain and simple silver ring as long as it came to me from the heart...maybe this sounds ridiculous to most people, but I am a simple girl and don't need flashy things to have someone show me they love me. All diamonds are...are property..just like everything else.

extremely high quality....however the main extreme element approximately an engagment ring is understanding your guy has long previous out of his thank you to locate something that he knows of you are going to adore. And that may not neccessarily additionally be a diamond. that's starting to be further and extra standard for women to need different stones in determination to diamonds. make an effort to verify what she loves. high quality and length extremely dont rely as lots.

I depends on what you can afford. No point in going into marriage with a bank loan on your back. Some women are very responsible and don't judge her feelings for you by the size of the diamond. Others who are into material things, will require a large stone, even if it bankrupts you.

I personally don't like big, obnoxious diamonds. My engagement ring is a quarter karat and that's what I wanted. It's a beautiful diamond, but it doesn't overtake my whole hand. He shows me how much he loves me, every day. I don't need a bowling ball on my finger as proof.

My fiance bought me a 1 carat + ring, and spent about $7500. cash. We always agreed-no debt for a ring. My ring is perfect for my big hand! I looks very lovely on my finger, and I am proud to wear it every day. For my wedding ring, I only want a plain gold band-no embellishment.
