Although i Hope he Stays, HE WON'T, OUT OF QUESTION!!!!
THE DEVILS WERE FIGHTING THE SALRY CAP LAST YEAR AND GOMEZ IS THEY'RESECOND MOST EXPENSIVE PLAYER!!!! HE CANNOT STAY, ILL MISS HIM!!!
As for teams that will take him, i can give u 3 specific teams in order:
3: Philadelphia Flyers: They Need a Player that Can make a Difference on the Team and need a player that can lead the way and create chances. who knows he might be captain on the flyers!!!
2: New York Rangers: Well, They Have all those stars that used to be good but now, r struggling big time!!! They Need a player like gomer that can always play good, to keep them fresh and always in the game!!!
1: The Toronto Maple Leafs: They've been looking for talented forwards for years but never found any!!! they brought kubina and paid him 5 million for a year and he played like jack s h i t!!! They Need Gomer becuase no matter where he is, hell always be a star and the gomer is the best when a team is down, he helps them big time in achieving a tie and the leafs r always trailING!!!!
ALL THOSE TEAMS I MENTIONED ARE MY LEAST FAVORITE TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE AND I WOULD GET SOOO MAD IF GOMER JOINS ONE OF THOSE!!!!! ID BE GLAD TO SEE HIM IN BUFALO WHERE HE CAN HELP THE SABRES WIN THE CUP FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!

I doubt he'll be back next year for a couple of reasons:
1 - Lou Lou doesn't take kindly to players who give him too much grief over contracts...see Bill Guerin, Pat Verbeek, Jason Arnott etc.
2 - Gomez seems happy to be on the market from his quotes that I've read.
3 - There is no way the Devs can pay him what he wants without seriously hurting the team overall by letting go some important parts.
4 - Too many other teams with cap space that could really use a #1 center.
I honestly have no clue where he may end up. He's one of the few North American players that you can't even guess a team closer to home for.
Edit - After thinking about it, Edmonton could be a big possibility if they don't resign Ryan Smyth...and rumors are going around here in NY today that the Isles. are going to sign Smyth.

I doubt he'll stay and the reasons for which have been listed already. As for where he may end up, no one can say with any degree of certainty at this point.
However, if the Rangers are serious about bringing Shanahan back, they need a pivot that can get him the puck with some sort of regularity. Cullen wasn't the guy to do that, but Gomez fits the bill in spades. Is the money there for Shanny, Nylander AND Gomez? July 1st is right around the corner.

I dont think he will stay. Lou has already hinted that the Devils wont pay him top dollar and he already had one contentious contract situation. There will be plenty of teams bidding for his services and a few could offer him a spot on a top line with the offensive freedom he craves. Because he has put up very good post season numbers his value will be among the highest of players hitting free agency. He is a creative center so a team that has solid wings and needs a playmaker would be enticing for him.
There is a slim chance he will take a little less and stay. A lot of that will depend on who is brought in as the next coach. If it is someone who allows offensive creativity he may opt to stay on a 2 or 3 year deal figuring that as long as Brodeur is around they will be Cup contenders and he may be able to make up some of the lost money with a playoff clause in a new deal based on team performance.

Philly ... they are looking big time. They need the offence and grit he brings to the table. They also have the room in the salary cap to do it.

i don't think he'll stay. he wants a lot of money that NJ dosn't have. he said he also dosn't like how he can't go up against the other teams top line. i think he may want to go to buffalo or pittsburgh. their offense is more wide open and they don't match lines. i hope he goes to the west so we don't have to play him..or he could just go for less and stay in NJ
