Yes, there are people out there who really listen to it. I've been a trance/techno fan for 10+ years.
Everyone has their own taste and their own preference in music. And there is always going to be people out there who love it and who hate it.
***Also, a person who listens to techno music isn't gay or on drugs like one answerer said. I've never done any drugs my entire life, which includes trying cigarettes.

i have been listening to techno for about twelve years now.i have hundreds of cd's and techno on vinyl.it is great music to dance to but i know it's not for everybody.it is a very unique style of music that for the most part remains pretty underground.alot of people dont understand it or just think that it sucks.but there is something there that can elicit such wonderful feelings in the listener like any other style of music.just listen to whatever makes you happy.thats the great thing about music,there's something for everybody!and as far as what that guy said about drugs,techno was never about doing drugs.it was always about getting together with friends and dancing and enjoying music and life.for every style of music out there,there are some listeners of it that do drugs,from classic to country.techno is a feeling deep in your soul,it's a way of life.it's something beautiful. i dont use drugs but i love techno.it's always been about the music.

it depends on the techno you listen too.. I hate techno, but i like bands that have that techno feel to them. A great one is Kill Hannah.. you have to download some of there old songs, like Kennedy, and boys and girls. if you listen to the background you hear a little techno.. its cool though.. Do you liike techno?? lol

techno was big in the "80's and I think it is music to dance to,not some type of music you have to go out to rush and by!!!

I listen to techno everyday....next to hip hop that is my favorite kind of music i like jungle, trance and drum n bass. i love it at parties too!!!
