Problem: Gas Mileage

The problem I have is that when I take the mower to the gas station and ride back I can only mow for a few mintes because I only have enough gas to ride back to the station for more gas. I called John Deere and they don't sell a larger tank, I make sure the tires are filled up and the oil is changed to get the best mileage. I thought about putting in my truck but it's too big...it's 25 HP! Sometimes when I've over mowed I only make part way to the station before it runs out...so I have it down that I can mow for 7 minutes before I have to get more gas...it takes numerous trip just to cut my grass.

any suggestions

Instead of riding the mower to the gas station, run or jog to the gas station, cup your hands and have someone dispense gas into your cupped hands until your hands are full of gas. Then run back home and put the gas into the mower. Repeat this process until the mower's tank is full.

invest in a gas can. Then take your car to get the gas which will get better mpg and better emmissions than the lawn mower does. You can allways just siphon the gas from your car into the mower also.

Why don't you keep a can of gas in your garage? Or, perhaps you could consider moving closer to the gas station .
