I would hope both the right and the left love the Constitution. Both sides use it to their advantage. The controversy is how the living document is interpreted by the courts. The left is for laws of gun control while the right is for laws against flag burning, both acts are protected by the Constitution. Just because someone is for one act but hates the other act does not mean that person hates the Constitution. Every red-blooded American loves the Constitution.
I am very liberal but I would not insult the right (or left) by saying they hate the Constitution. But this question is just to make people mad.

The protections of the Constitution, and individual rights in general, stand in the way of molding society into the shape you think it should be. After all, if everyone can "do their own thing," you can't get them all together to fight wars, worship your God, or embrace the values you hold dear.

Of course, left-wingers are just as guilty of hating the Constitution. Only instead of focusing their wrath on the individual-rights part, they hate the limited-government part.

Almost everyone is willing to ignore or denegrate SOME part of the Constitution in the quest to get the government to do something THEY want.

Why don't you tell us what left-wingers have against the individual's rights to decide if they want the Ten Commandments on the wall of their state's circuit courthouse? Which, by the way, they did want as proved on a state-wide ballot...

I am a pretty liberal Democrat and I found your question offensive. And if it wasn't offensive, it was incendiary on purpose. The Republicans love the CotUS, they just only make noise about the 2nd amendment. Your point is well-received though, because interestingly for their desire to have a small government, that want the Department of Homeland Security to large enough to cover every inch of the Mexican border, but small enough to monitor what I am doing in my bedroom.

Right wingers hate the constitution of the Soviet Union which actually stated the separation of church and state. The very words the left in America wishes were in the U.S Constitution. Right wingers in America are very much in favor of our individual rights granted to us by our Creator.

You honestly believe you can make a sweeping, general statement with such hatred and NO FACTS to back it up?...think again. I am a Conservative and I love my country's constitution!

Don't you just love the liberals accusations, it doesn't matter that they can't back it up with any facts, just keep making those baseless inane accusations...It is what you guys are good at anyway, but at least you're good at something.

WE are the ones fighting to keep the courts from changing it and taking it away from us.

They find it inconvenient. As for examples, look to GITMO. Sure these are evil people but the entire process was crafted to ensure no due process was available. Lock them up and throw away the key but do it within the bounds stipulated by the Constitution, not Bush and Gonzalez. This entire episode soils our soul and diminishes our national values
