I work in a 9-1-1 center. Everyone and his brother had to be in the situation room to handle the impending emergency! It was hilarious! What a non-event that turned out to be!

I remember going to the east coast to participate in some Y2K software testing and getting into the fringes of Hurricane Floyd before it made landfall. Everyone seemed to be a lot more concerned about Y2K than about the hurricane.

I remember not getting too excited like a lot of my friends.

I was not going to stockpile duct tape and water.
I am glad I followed my mind (only 2 gallons of water and 1 duct tape). I think the business people pulled a loop scoop on America and made off with a bundle.

Thinkin that the world was gonna end at the stroke of midnight. My neighbors had fireworks and I didn't know about it. I was inside watching the ball drop, and waiting for the worst, and when the clock went to zero, they set them off and all I heard was a huge bang. I was freakin out!...Whew!, I was drunk that night!

Yes, and at the time, my family went out and bought about 50 gallons of water, loads of canned food, and dehydrated food to last us for a long, long time. I knew it was a hoax. That's why I looked at all of them like fools.

That my daughter was really scared that something bad was going to happen and how I thought that was funny. We laugh about it now.
