YES, they care very much. I speak as a teacher. I care about every single one of my students. Teachers teach students, not subjects.

I ALWAYS ask a student if something is wrong when I notice a change in his/her demeanor or mood.

If you trust the teacher and need someone to talk to, by all means, TALK. The only thing you need to know is that educators are required to report certain things to the proper authorities. If you are in a dangerous situation or have been abused in any way, teachers MUST report that. We protect children!

Pick a teacher you like and ask for help if you need it. Good luck to you.

Most teachers care a great deal about their students. It's why they went into teaching after all. You'll know the bad teachers from the good. I would imagine the teacher asking you knows you well enough to know that you weren't yourself and took some time to ask to see if you wanted to talk. They were being nice.

Teachers are under no obligation to ask you whats wrong. If you don't feel like talking about it just do like you did to us and say - "I'm just a little down today and don't really feel like talking about it. Thanks for asking though."

The only obligation I know of is if they suspect abuse they are expected to report their suspicions to the proper channel in their school.

last year my teacher was all asking me why i was alone while everyone else was havin fun on some free day or crap like that and i just shrugged and tried to brush her off and she actualy said she cared about me. Kinda stunning and made me feel uncomfortable but whatever. I'm not sure though if all my teachers care about each one of us personally. Some are probably too busy to notice. These days when im depressed no one notices, and a couple of my teachers ask other students if they need help during class, but not me. Kinda pisses me off.

If your teachers are like me, they actually love you. We are taught to not be your friend, but to be your teacher, mentor, etc. In truth, there must be a happy medium and when a teacher cares about his/her students, it shows. If they asked, they cared to know the answer. Teachers are very busy people...if they didn't care, they probably wouldn't have asked.

Yes, I sincerely do. When I ask a student if anything is wrong, it's because I actually care and want to help him or her!

teachers do really care about their students. as teachers they serve as second mothers to their students. so as a mother they would really care for their children.

They probably do care, otherwise they probably wouldn't waste their time asking.
