I don't think it would be... kids will be kids, and no matter what we name them, kids will find a way to "make fun" of each others' names. It's the nature of the human conditional beast...

I say, better a name like "Clark Kent" than...

SUE!

Name 'im BILL, or BOB or HARRY... anything but SUE!

lol... sorry, just couldn't resist quoting Johnny Cash there... :)

It wouldn't be mean if your desire to name your child that is based upon the name and not on a joke. But do beware -- he is sure to get some form of teasing/joking for the name. However, it wouldn't necessarily be negative teasing.

Have you considered two middle names maybe? I like two middle names for boys (though some think its excessive). Maybe something like...

Anthony Clark Kent
Clark Michael Kent
Clark Gabriel Kent

dah-dah-da-dah.....whats that in the sky? it's a bird.....its a plane....it's superman !!!!!!!!! He's going to get teased and u know it. Don't do it. Even his wife will tease him. I almost named my daughter Nestle, like the milk, because I was drinking alot of strawberry milk. He will be teased for the rest of his life. And all because you names him after a well known superhero. You're going to feel pretty silly yelling "Clark Kent, get out of that phone booth" or just yelling it out at the park, for that matter.

Nope...itz not. Just go for it.

I have a friend named Elizabeth Iris Taylor. Her parents were avid fan of Elizabeth Taylor and they have the surname Taylor . No one made fun of her for her name. If fact, she feels proud whenever people linked her name with the famous actress.

Hi there we use names to remember our families and use them in respect to other members of family. You can use whatever name how ever your heart desires towards your own children. Just be sure to use a name they would not change when they get older Spanish names many are not well like. example mines no don't ask my name.

be well be safe god bless

Its the name of superman. It may not be mean but it sure would be dumb to saddle a wee baby with that one.

No I don't think it would matter what nme you give, most children will find anything to make fun at. Just show him love and no matter what name you give him he will always love you!
