Tomorrow I am doing my bioethics debate for school and I already have my opening speech. However, I'm finding it a bit more difficult to think of the required 10 prepared questions for the opposing side. I have to argue pro-plastic surgery. No, we didn't get to pick our topic nor our side. Ideas? Suggestions? Help?!

Pro-plastic surgery

1. corrects birth defects (cleft palate, the dolphin girl)
2. provides a sense of normalcy after cancer (mastectomy and breast reconstruction)
3. prevents stigma (for example, in some societies people might be stigmatized if their appearance is different)
4. provides a boost in self-image for those who elect to have it
5. represents a fountain of youth for aging men and women (e.g., face lifts etc.)
6. my guess is 100s of 1000s of surgeries are performed complication-free each year
7. chances are new medical techniques have been discovered as the field of plastic surgery progressed

I suppose there are questions associated with these points. It would depend on what the other side was arguing..
