well you can't just suddenly change, cuz then people will see that you're trying too hard and they'll think you're a fake and won't like you. so you need to do this gradually, step by step. don't some to school one day with a new attitude and clothes...that is being too obvious (and it's stupid).
so first start of with your personality. be confident, outgoing, bold, kind, mature, smart, and yeah...basically confidence is the most important. trust me. i've been through this before.
then get to know the more popular people, in your classes or something, and hang out with them once in a while til they consider you a real friend. that's when you can hang out with them everyday or whatnot.
then after, get more involved in school activities, like run for president or something. people will start to recignize your name, even if you don't win. remember to keep up the confidence too, pretend you love yourself the most, not arrogant or conceited though!
last, wear unique but stylish clothes so you stand out in a good way.
also, remember to always be yourself though!!!!! that is very important. don't be a fake. if those "popular" people don't like you or you don't feel comfortable with them, move on!!!! don't give in to peer pressure either, like drinking. honestly, i am pretty popular and i have never drank, done drugs, had sex...etc. i'm pretty confident but nice to everyone, i barely gossip, i'm friends with almost everyone, and i am always myself. clothes and how you look should not matter. if people judge you on that, then they are not friends. know that.

The real question is Why do you want to be popular?
Most popular people are snobby cuz it all goes to their head and they end up only being popular for being a complete brat and everyone talking bad about them behind their back.

first of all, are you in high school yet? because the one thing you should know about high school is that there is no popularity. you may think you're the most popular person in school, but half the people may not even heard of you.
if you want to meet more people, as you should have phrased it, you should join sports teams, be active in school-related activities, don't try to be better or act like you're better than others (people really hate that), don't talk crap about people, and just be friendly (but not a pushover). that's all you really need to know. ;) good luck.

well u cant go up 2 ppl n just say hey u wanna b my frnd? 1st u gotta wear sumthin nice, so ppl will notice u. 2nd participate in sports n extra curricular activities. nethin the popular ppl r into. then u just gotta act like them . pretty soon ur gonna b like who the hell wuz the sorry lil gurl b4. im a mega popular biotch rtie now. lol.

Be nice, bubbly and fun. Wear nice looking clothes (even if they are not expensive). Have a lot of friends (be nice), be a good student and try hard.
You dont need to be dumb to be popular!!!

Everybody is going to tell you to be yourself. And i think you should but you just need a little help. Slowly start to hang with them and talk to them around your usual friends. Wear nice clothing ( TNA, Lululemon, Abercrombie BabyPhat Etc). And just be nice ;]

brush your teeth, wear deoderant, hold a conversation with the popular people, about some thing they like ...eventually they will start talking to you ;)

just be yourself!. you don't need to wear super fancy brand name clothes or anything. Just be really social and super friendly to everyone! dont be a caddy girl who thinks she knows everything. just remember to be yourself and if people don't accept you for being you then you don't deserve them! =]
