Very thin and unable to swim properly sounds like it was an internal infection to me. I would suggest you remove the fish from the tank before it dies to protect the other fish in the tank. Humanely euthanize the very sick fish, it's really past recovery.

I don't understand what you mean by the "dead float/swim" thing but I'm guessing it may be a swim bladder problem. Sometimes fish get those, If you fish seems to be fine other than that and is swimming around and eating there is nothing really wrong with it. If your fish is happy and otherwise healthy. If your fish starts to be in pain or have other complications I would consider euthanizing it. It's a hard process but in the end it may be better for your fish.

I had the same thing wrong with my guppy. You need too turn the heat up to 80 degrees and add some remedy aquarium salt. how ever much it says on it to the gallon of the tank. If there is more than one fish ,and the one that is sick has its fins torn or chewed on you need to put it in its own tank untill its better or remove the fish biting. Also if you feed it good ifs its not eating all of it in a couple of minutes you may have high levels of ammonia or nitrite from over feeding. So it may be suffering from high levels of stress or check the ammonia levels in the tank

this happened to my fish , it was a balloon goldfish. i was scared that it was diseased or something so i put it a seprate cup away from the other other fish and when it was floating i pushed it back down with my finger and then it seemed to be fine. but when i returned home from school he was dead. it may be that your fish is not in good water or maybe if there is other fishies on the tank it may not be working well with them, maybe dying from old age.
