Not a hope. The bike doesn't have enough power, the rear tyre does not have a big enough contact area, and even if the bike had both the standard chain would snap. A decently skilled rider on a well-tuned bike with the engine at full operating temperature and the tyres already hot enough for maximum traction may do it in a tiny fraction under 6 seconds. Remember that the Fireblade is not the hooligan of a bike that it seemed when it was first launched all those years ago. For a stupidly quick bike you need a new Kawasaki ZX12R. Holy cow that is a quick machine!

No production motorbike can get anywhere near that time for 0-100mph; the fastest bikes come in at just over 3 seconds for 0-60mph. It's not just a case of acceleration... imagine the size of back tyre you would need to deliver the grip required get to 100 in under 3 seconds!

A Suzuki GSXR-1000 can do do 0-100mph in a tad over 5 seconds. A 'Blade would be a bit slower than that.

its not possible, my 98 tricked up blade if i tried! could hit 100 in 7 seconds or thereabouts. its all very well trying to hit a ton fast, its the stopping that matters. more bikers are killed because of stupidity. novices on incredibly powerful machines do not match the skill of a 50 year old on a cruiser who started out 30 years ago on a norton commando persay.
ive been on a lot of bikes, from a honda cg up to a 1200 ninja they still burn off the road any bum fluffed 17 year old driving a vauxhall nova know it all. my blade burns all others off the road through years of experience and expertise.

no way... my mate has a 140bhp gsxr 1200 bandit, and even that wont do it, so what chance has a dinosaur honda got?
physics; thats accellerating and covering 1700 feet per second.. (3x1760=5250 feet, a mile is 5250 feet) at a flat speed, 180mph is a pathetic 240 feet per... leaving you well dissapointed...
and one day im sure they will produce a 3 second mile, but they will bolt wings and a warhead onto it, and fire it into iraq...
