The term "headbanger" was coined on Led Zeppelin's first US tour in 1968. During a show at the Boston Tea Party, audience members in the first row were banging their heads against the stage in rhythm with the music. Lemmy from Motörhead said in an interview on the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years, that the term "Headbanger" may have originated in the bands name, as in "Motorheadbanger", although this is most likely untrue.
[edit] Health issues
In practice, headbanging is considered much safer than moshing and has hardly any short-term side effects.[citation needed] Unsafe practice, such as headbanging while intoxicated, under the influence of narcotics, or too close to someone else, is the common cause of injury, also known as a bangover or "mosh neck". In 2002, Jason Newsted claimed his departure from Metallica was partly due to wear of the cartilage in his neck.[citation needed] Also, many people experience a 'pulled muscle' in the neck if no stretching is done beforehand, or if the headbang is performed improperly. In 2005, Terry Balsamo, Evanescence guitarist, received a stroke from headbanging.[1]
[edit] Brain Damage
There has always been some speculation about whether or not headbanging causes brain damage. Most metalheads will wake up the following day with a headache showing there has been some trauma to the brain. Repeated headbanging in one week can hurt increasingly more, with each time one does it. Whiplash or violent shaking of the head can cause brain damage q5, and some headbanging can be extremely violent. The most common pain caused by headbanging, though, is an ache across the back of the neck. The headache and neckache is commonly known as "headbanger's hangover." Studies conclude that there is no evidence that headbanging causes brain damage

Head bangers listen to heavy rock like Slayer and this stereo type head banger have long hair and wear the ripped up jeans and shirts...mostly a late 80's kind of style. The kids in your school are just stupid and don't even know what the term means...so I would just flip them off when they call you that.

properly, i do no longer pick to insult you, yet i'm gonna attempt to disguise only approximately each and every little thing i can think of of, alongside with very undemanding stuff. Basketball gamers play on a court docket, no longer a container. the lads play with a 29.5 inch ball, even as the girls play with a 28.5 inch ball. There are 5 men on the floor at a time for each group, 2 communities of direction. whilst somebody bounces the ball they are dribbling. in the event that they pass without dribbling and pass better than a step or 2, that's stated as a commute and the different group will receive the ball. A shot is whilst they throw the ball on the purpose, it truly is ten feet intense, and the backboard, glass, bankboard, in spite of you pick to call it, is 6 feet extensive. A trey is a three element shot, it truly is at the back of the three element line. whilst men on the bench pass in that's stated as subbing. The gamers that initiate the sport are stated as starters. there is two guards who dribble, 2 forwards and a million middle. I wouldn't have began answering this question... Basketball is only too complicated for me to place in writing down. i wish I did help a sprint earlier I ran out of time.

head banger - heavy metal music listeners. Could be the people you hang with or the way you dress that is causing them to sterotype you. Good luck I'm glad high school is long gone.

I was a teenage head banger. Lots of black eyeliner, and Joan Jett concerts.... I turned out okay, I guess. Don't worry about stereotypes, the people who use them have no other way to look at the world around them.

Headbangers are long-haired people who listen to heavy metal and bob their head forward and backward dramatically so their hair waves forward and back like a mane. You've probably seen many guitar players exhibiting this move as they play on stage and flop their hair forward and backward. That's called head banging, kind of a single movement dance move that involves your upper torso and head.

we all know that head banger has something to do with heavy metal music... but i have this idea that maybe they are mocking you... head banging may pertain to the act of s*cking a d**k... Try to picture it out... it's more likely headbanging...
