The whole story:
My friend Lydia's parents are getting divorced, soon. She's been going to the school bathroom often, and I can hear her crying. Everyone has said, "tell her that 6 out of 10 couples get divorce, so that she knows she's not the only one who's going through this. But do you have some original ideas or stories that I might use to get her to calm down? This would mean so much to her, and to me.

just tell jer that your there for her if she ever wants to talk. if she just needs a shoulder to cry on, let her know that your's is open. she might still be feeling the intial shock from the news about her parents. it may take time, but eventually she will calm down. she may never like the idea or get used to it but the wound will heal.

The main thing as her friend just be there for her....

When she is low, give her a hug and tell her things aren't ideal but it will get easier. Let her talk to you about what ever and don't judge. Hold her hand and let her grieve. So that she can move on.

It's hard to weather the break up your family.

she just needs to know her parents love her very much and their getting a divorce had nothing to do with her, it was between the two of them.
