I have "You & Your Aquarium" by Dick Mills. Its a really good thick little book with tons of info for the aquarists mind. The problem is its over 20 years old (published 1986) I need some updated info. Any good "up to date" books about aquariums?
It can have Marine & goldfish info in it too, I like reading about those.

If you look at my previous questions you can see I LOVE aquariums! Practically obsessed!

It's not the cheapest way to go, or even the most recent stuff published but I really love and highly recommend the Baensch Aquarium Atlas series. Very clear and concise,
Freshwater, saltwater, plants, inverts, disease info... they do a good job on all those subjects really. Most fish etc that you would want to know about is in one of those books. Mine stay in a leather travel bag by the computer desk and go with me anytime I head for the fish store. Originally published in 1995, but the revised edition is 2004 so very reasonably current. Available from amazon.com new for 39.99 used starting at $29.99, later volumes cost more ranging up to $68.99 for a new hardcover revised edition, less for used or paperback.

Also available on ebay for 39.95 + 4.95 shipping (volume 6)

in case you read German as only 1-4 are available in English and those are available for the mid $20's on ebay

The only problem with the previous posters book it too is copywritten in 1995 and only vol 6 is new and sell on ebay for more than $66 each.

The Aquarists Bible is still the best all around book for information the nice thing is it is updated each year so a current copy is always available as well as the Salt water aquarists bible.

You can get on their mailing list which is a loose leaf. You can down load for free the added pages so it is always current.

As for gold fish, I would suggest the Koi keepers bible. It also goes thru all the goldfish from water to diseases.

As with any written books, sometimes experience plays a roll and I would suggest marking your own notes within your books since water conditions and tanks vary widely

Magazines would probably give more up to date information compared to any books.

I would recommend that you take up a subscription of Tropical Fish Hobbyist. It one of the better ones I've subscribed to so far.
