I even add weight to the envelope so it cost the business even more for postage
PS: for unsolicited calls - as soon as you realize that it is an unwantedd call - just put the receive down - don't talk - don't hang up don't do zip -
Later on hang up

Junk Mail Sucks! I tried to convince my local post office to stop with the junk mail already, most of it is addressed to resident, they said there is nothing they can do. So what I do is save all the crap and bundle it all together in a bag and when the bag gets full I drop it off at the post office before or after hours, right in the fricking doorway. I have not heard from then and I have no idea what happens to all the bags of junk mail I drop off there but out of sight out of mind.

no,it's not illegal.Your local post office can arrange for you to be taken off the junk mail list.Call them.it will not only stop the junk mail, but you will probably save a few trees in the process.

No...you committed no crime....they sent it to you with the understanding that most people will trash them...they have no damages if you send it back to them...it was unsolicited
I used to send them coupons...if a credit card company or another company sent me a postage paid envelope...i would send them pizza coupons or oil change coupons to Jiffy Lube...usually the company never wrote back.

hahaha. you don't find a lot of prepaid cards or envelopes in the junk mail these days for that very reason. in my days we would glue a prepaid card to a [heavy object]. companies were forced to pay the extra weight as well.
personally i applaud your idea; but that's just me. i have a running war with junkmail.

I used to do that quite a bit and I would add extra paper so it was over the weight limit so they have to pay extra postage for it. LOL
Just make sure you remove any papers with your name and address on it .. just to be safe!
Have fun.

I do it all the time. I do, however, take off any personal identifying information. It makes me feel good to do it and it costs those junk mail senders some money.
Go for it!

That idea was from Andy Rooney on 60 minutes. He said that everyone who doesn't want these stacks of credit card applications, home loan applications, and life insurance applications that are arbitrarily sent out to "resident" over and over, wasting paper resources; should send a clear message that we don't want their garbage. A clear way to send this message is to send them some of YOUR garbage. Old lunch meat, coffee grounds, banana peels, used kleenex, a holey sock...whatever is garbage...share yours with them~they were so gracious to send you theirs!
