My mom was born in New York city to 100% Dominican parents, and my dad is white american born in LA. Legally what can I call myself, hispanic or white?

You can legally answer with either. If you are applying for scholarships or any assistance it is always best to use the hispanic box! I am white and my husband is mexican - our oldest son looks 100% white but has the spanish surname. When he was applying for scholerships it made a huge difference that he was mexican!
Use both to your advantage!!

What ever you want hon. Our you can choose both why not say " I am a White Hispanic or Hispanic American. What ever you feel and if you really want to know what to say, ask your mom life story and your dads and get your final answer. LOL there is no such thing as a "white American". A white American of European dissent is more like it. Ask your dad where his family originated from and you'll probably find out that you're a "Heinz 57" (a mutt, like me). Over all, who cares? Youre American. If you have to label yourself, look to your skin tone. If youre dark, call yourself hispanic. Cant call yourself white anyway. If youre white, call yourself white. That ought to work.

You are of both origins. You are half dominican and half white. You can just say you're mixed. But if you want to say one, just say you're Hispanic.

well, you cannot call yourself hispanic, being that you are not from hispania, the ancient name for spain (mexicans are NOT hispanic, they're mexicans, they are also not latin, they speak spanish, not latin).
call yourself an american. that's what you are.
