I've always wanted to be friends with Gay people so as to understand their lives and community better. I have many gay acquaintances, but I find that gay folk just don't care to communicate with straight people. Its almost asif if youre straight you're just not important in their world and they are so indifferent to you. Why? I don't mock or hate and I support gay rights. So why is it that gay people just like to ignore all the straight people who try to be nice to them? I see this especially with lesbians- I cant remember comming across even one lesbian who had a likable personality.

Ok perhaps I am generalizing- from all the answers I am getting. I guess we can look at it this way- why does sexual orientation always have to spill over into the other aspects of life that have nothing to do with it?

Well I guess the answer is that we are all just people . It is hard to find tolerance when so little is shown to you.

Perhaps you are being a little unfair. Many gay people are not comfortable talking about their sexual orientation with others and don't primarily identify themselves as 'gay' or 'not gay.' Most of the straight people I know wouldn't start a conversation with how they prefer to have sex, and I would consider them weird if they did, to be honest.

Therefore, you may have plenty of friends who are gay but never bothered to wear a sign or whatever. Try to focus on liking people for who they are, not for how they entertain themselves in private, with or without other consenting adults.

Think about it--it's quite unusual to go around discussing preferences in the bedroom for either gay or straight people.

I love Gay people, but then i ove all people too, i think gay men are so funny!. I have one gay male friend, we go shopping and talk girl stuff and he is such a huge bi*ch though, he can get right up on his high horse and heaven help anyone that gets in his why. He needs help though and that's why I'm there for him.
They are a very self centered people, it's all about them. They have been abused in some way, hence the gay thing. They harbor a lot of resentment toward anyone straight. Why? because they associate straight people to their abuser.

Check your own personality....I've never had any trouble with gay men or lesbians. People are people. Maybe you seem just to want their friendship for show.

I think you're just generalizing. It's always a mistake to make blanket assumptions like this based upon your personal experience.

THEY ARE??

WOW! Thats news to me!!!
A gay colleague of mine told me that they (in the gay community) refer to straight people as "Breeders"

My comeback: oh... I get it! 'cause we can actually breed and reproduce?
