the government gives them grants, not to mention they dont' have to pay taxes for seven years. when those seven years are up, they pass the business on to their brother, who gets a grant and doesn't have to pay taxes for seven years. it seems like it's a lot better to be an immigrant (even better to be an ILLEGAL ALIEN ) than it is to be a citizen of the united states of embarrasment.

We live in the best country in the world. That's why some people hate us. We have more freedoms than any other country in the world. We have less taxes and less restrictions. Unfortunately we don't teach our system of economics. We (95% of us) are all taught to go out and get a job and hopefully that job will take care of us for the rest of our lives. As you probably know this is not working anymore. Business ownership is the key, as it was before the industrial age. People in other countries know this that's why the risk life and limb to get here. Even the people that hate us if we were to offer them a business they would learn to love us quick because they can't own a business in their country without the government taxing them. The short answer, they understand what most Americans do not; our system of economics.

You can help by educating yourself and others around you. Use the sources below to start. Start with the second source.

Because they are hardworking and focused. Most of these people know the true meaning of working your a** off. Some owe business as a family. Some foreign family ties are very strong and they unite, not so like traditional 'American' families. If you think that you can owe a business by playing video games, chatting with friends, hanging out.. etc.. try working hard, pursuing a dream! The dream is there for all of us to get... good luck!

Some immigrants come here with big bucks. They are rich where they came from. But they have the look of different persona because of the difference of environment. And they work hard and save a lot. They hardly go see a movie or eat out and they eat lefover foods and caserole foods. So example: their food at home that they cook is worth 10.00. They will eat together and still have left over for next day, because they smart by cooking their food with a lot of soup in it. At least this is what i noticed to some of my friends.

I am an immigrant and let me tell you how utterly FALSE the claims of the second person who answered, that immigrants:

- do not pay taxes for 7 years
- immigrants receive grants from the government

Those statements are utterly FALSE. Nowhere in the IRS or USCIS rules state that immigrants are immune in paying taxes for 7 years -- in fact, if you don't pay your taxes, you can be disapproved in your permanent residency application and can be deported.

Immigrants go to the US mostly to improve their lives -- to escape poverty in their home countries and get more opportunities. Believe it or not, many immigrants believe that America is the land of milk and honey -- and with that mentality they create opportunities for themselves by starting a business.

Many immigrants start with hardly anything, but they are willing to scrape from the bottom of the barrel just to realize their American dreams. And many see their risks and ventures succeed. It's just hard work, pure and simple -- and the realization that you only have yourself to help you (as against the welfare mentality).

I started my business with only $200, and now makes Uncle Sam very happy with the size and amount of taxes I pay. I have not seen the word "refund" for a decade after starting my business because I always pay Uncle Sam lots of taxes.

Typically, they have money when they come over and a business plan. It's also common for several families to pool their resources in order to have enough money to start a business. They then all work in the business and share the profits.

To sum it up, we don't see the blood, sweat and leftovers they go thru to get that business. Yes... they have family members working there. Yes...they stay at home. Look up "stretching the dollar" in the dictionary and you'll probably see the definition in every language BUT English. Most of them are more than happy to talk to a friendly local. Ask them! I'll bet you'll be surprised at some of the answers you get.

Often, immigrants pool their money to buy businesses, or the new immigrants get help from others who've been here for awhile. If you want to start a business, see if you can talk your friends and family into lending you enough money to start it.

Immigrants strive to own businesses since that's the only real way to wealth. They don't have that option in their home countries, so they come here.

I don't know. I think they came to America in the first place to pursue the "american dream" and they probably weren't given a whole lot in their native country and had to compensate with work ethic.
