i know i had the runs for a while. but i was also doing EVERYTHING i could think of to get him out of there! lol. i tried castor oil, spicy foods, walking at night, swimming, EVERYTHING. but yea, the last few weeks, i had nothing but the runs. yuck. lol. a couple of signs to look for though is loosing your mucous plug. and if the baby is in position and dropped. also keep an eye out for "leaking" water (if this happens, go STRAIGHT to the hospital). despite what you see on TV, it does not "normally" GUSH like a busted dam! lol. i had my water broken in the hospital and even then it leaked....but with all of this, i have learned personally, the baby will come when its ready. NOT when you are! lol. unfortunately. my son is almost 8 months old, and i remember EVERYTHING about the pregnancy as if it all happened yesterday. i was SO miserable. good luck sweetie! your baby will come one of these days! lol.

If it was red, then it could be signs of pre-term labor. One of the first symptoms of labor is called the "bloody show," which is a thick mucus with little red dots throughout. It is also referred to as losing your “mucus plug.” This usually happens a day or two before you go into labor. However, since your discharge was brown, it's probably old blood left over from before the pregnancy. The best advice I can give you is to call your OBGYN. If you ever feel like something is not quite right, give him or her a call. Your doc might want to examine you, just in case you did lose your mucus plug. Sine you are only 28 weeks, they can stop labor from happening. You would have to go on bedrest because the mucus plug keeps infection from entering the uterus, keeping the baby safe... Losing it this early would mean you might need to take antibiotics and/or hormones to keep labor from occurring. Good luck! =)

If your 1.5 cm dialated, ur already in labor, just not active labor. Dont rush to the doctor with this symptom, there will be plenty more odd things happening, and before you know it the baby will be here. just pack your bag (and then repack it 10 more times like i always do. lol!) and try to occupy yourself so your not thinking about it constantly. You could start active labor in 10 minutes or 3 days from now, but either way, its gonna happen soon. :) congratulations and good luck!

An unpleasant early sign and symptom of labor is diarrhea. A release of the body chemical prostaglandins might occur in the process of early labor. This trigger can result in episodes of loose bowel movements. Many women have had it, I know that for sure so do not worry this is very normal.
Good Luck and God Bless

Yes, since you are 80% effaced, it is a very good chance. Most likely the baby is dropping further down and applying additional pressure which can trigger this symptom.
Good luck!

Hey,
I did acctually...
Well not the runs but a looser stool!
I'd say your getting pretty close. But remember bodys are funny things and like to trick us!
I had it the day I went into labor and the day before,
I had read that and got all excited and then told my mum and she burst my bubble haha!
But I threw it back at her and had my beautiful son.
But yes I had it so who knows *fingers crossed*
Goodluck keep us informed!
Take Care

It definately is a sign of labor. How many weeks are you? Are you dialated at all? I bet you are close. Congrats! I hope you meet your baby soon! I can't wait!

Yes, it can definitely be a sign. Be glad! It's your body's way of cleaning itself out in preparation for labor. You'll be less likely to poop on the table!

This is what I was told: diarreha(sp?) contracts your uterine muscles possibly making them contract and start contractions. Alot of women try castor oil to get this effect. But Ive also heard of women who feel like they have diarreha right before they go into labor.
