My heater will not go any lower than 82 degrees, is this fine for them or should I be concerned?

It's high end, Papino. What type of fish do you have in there? I would definitely get a new heater. This one is unreliable and may eventually heat your water to the point of fish soup. The warmer the water, the less oxygen it holds.

82* is not too hot for tropical fish but getting a new heater would be a good idea. Especially with summer coming. You don't want to "roast" your fish & getting temp. down to at least 80* will keep your fish peppy & cut chance of ick or other fish diseases from getting a hold in the tank.

It depends on your fish mostly yes for fresh water it is to hot. For tropical fish I pretty sure that is ok since they would be use to it
Try to open the top of your tank lid or put ice cubes in or just get a NEW Heater

Freshwater fish ideal temperature is between 76-84 degrees. But you can still have happy fish between 70-90 degrees, just don't go to far past or below those temperatures.

82 isn't a problem, but a heater that won't adjust properly is a problem. Pull that one and get a new one the first chance you get.

82 - 84 is good but it is
the max you can go. so you should moniter your Aquarium temp. several times a day.
